Upper Hutt Libraries provide welcoming community spaces where people of all ages can discover books, use digital resources, develop new skills and connect with others. The city’s library services include Central Library, Pinehaven Library, and two mobile library vehicles serving communities across Upper Hutt.

Library members can browse and borrow books, magazines, audiobooks, DVDs, games and puzzles. Members can also access eBooks, eAudiobooks, online newspapers, magazines and streaming resources, with many digital services available online at any time. Joining Upper Hutt Libraries is free.

The libraries regularly offer:

The mobile libraries, Pūrehurehu and Mangaroa, visit schools, kura, early childhood centres, rest homes and community events, making library services more accessible throughout Upper Hutt.
