Porirua City Libraries provide welcoming spaces where people of all ages can read, study, access technology and take part in community activities. The network includes the City Centre Library, along with branches in Cannons Creek, Whitby, Tītahi Bay and Pukerua Bay.

Visitors can explore a wide range of books, magazines, DVDs, children’s books, graphic novels and research materials. Library members can also use the online catalogue to reserve and renew items, access eBooks and other digital resources, and borrow materials through the wider SMART library network.

Membership is free for Porirua residents, ratepayers and local business owners. People who already belong to another participating SMART library may also use their SMART card to borrow from Porirua’s collection. 

Three hours of free parking is available in the nearby Te Rauparaha Arena car park.
